There are small ways in which you can improve the performance of your truck. One of them is with tonneau covers. A tonneu cover is a particular kind of accessory that can be found in several versions. Each one of them can transform your truck’s look and enhance the performance of your truck in its own unique way.

The first kind is the soft tonneau cover. This cover is for the top of your truck back. It comes with a supportive frame to hold it in place. This tarp-like cover is generally made out of vinyl or leather, either of which can easily be pulled on to an aluminum framework. This frame is attached to the tailgate and of course the bedside of the truck’s bed. The tarp is then held down in place with snaps or with slide rails. These covers are flat. However, if you are looking to keep out snow and rain, they could be arched as well. These soft covers are the least expensive of the three kinds.

Hard tonneau covers are made from fiber glass typically. They can come with several folding panels or a flat even sheet the covers the back of the truck. When you have a single piece as a tonneau cover, it will lend itself easily to being customized with unique colors of paints. They are a bit more expensive but are extremely durable. The entire trapping that goes with this form of cover can add to the weight of your vehicle.

The third type of tonneau cover is the retractable one. This is the most expensive version and the most advanced as well. The cover is made up of panels and has a hinged system in place. There is a track on which the panels can be moved forward and backward. It is especially good for those who want to lock down their trucks and who have periods in between when the truck is used and when it is not.
